The registration phase involves the collection and recording of personal data necessary for the admission procedure under the Union Resettlement and Humanitarian Admission Framework.

This generally includes information such as names, dates of birth, gender, nationality, family links, and identity or travel document details. For every person of at least six years of age registered for the purpose of conducting an admission procedure, biometric data such as fingerprints and photographs will also be collected. 

Registration is important for establishing identity, preparing the admission procedure, and ensuring that all family members included in the procedure are correctly documented throughout the process.

During or right after this phase, refugees should receive clear information about:

• the objectives and steps of the admission procedure; 
• the collection and protection of personal data; 
• the consequences of withdrawing consent during the procedure; 
• and the possible consequences of refusing to participate in pre-departure orientation, where applicable. 

Providing accurate and complete information is important for the continuation of the admission procedure.
